Volleyball Recap: Pine Bluffs Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Pine Bluffs and Tongue River squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Pine Bluffs had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Avery Gray paced Pine Bluffs' offense, picking up 13 kills. Gray got some help from Kadee Bruns and her 17 assists. Hattie Lerwick controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Pine Bluffs' loss dropped their record down to 24-10. As for Tongue River, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Pine Bluffs nor Tongue River have any future games scheduled.
