Football Game Preview: Concordia Lutheran Crusaders vs. Parish Episcopal Panthers + Official Tickets

The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders will square off against the Parish Episcopal Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Concordia Lutheran is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They secured a 41-35 W over Antonian Prep.

Meanwhile, Parish Episcopal waltzed into their contest on Friday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They claimed a resounding 52-7 win over the Friars. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Concordia Lutheran better focus on containing Marcus Hanish and Logan Lucero as the pair were huge in Parish Episcopal's win. Hanish rushed for 219 yards and one score while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, while Lucero rushed for 109 yards on only ten carries. Hanish's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Jaxon McKinney was another key player, rushing for 67 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Parish Episcopal was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 458 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.

One reason for the win was Parish Episcopal's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Connor Corwin and Benjamin Rich, who racked up four sacks between them.

Concordia Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Parish Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Concordia Lutheran was taken down by Parish Episcopal 48-6 in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can the Crusaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
