Baseball Recap: Upper Dublin Takes a Loss

Upper Dublin had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-7 to make it four. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strath Haven Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flying Cardinals of the 7-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

As for Strath Haven, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Strath Haven's part, the team relied heavily on Will Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was Taylor's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Manny Pickup, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upper Dublin will square off against Abington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Galloping Ghosts have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Flying Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Strath Haven, they will face off against Upper Darby at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Royals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.8 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
