Basketball Game Preview: Woodinville Falcons vs. Auburn Trojans

The Woodinville Falcons will square off against the Auburn Trojans at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Woodinville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Union, who was ranked 16th at the time (Woodinville was ranked fifth). Woodinville snuck past Union with a 70-66 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Woodinville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hailey Quiggle out in front who went 7-for-14 en route to 25 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Quiggle has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlyn Wilkerson, who put up 19 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Auburn had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 63-42 margin over Redmond on Wednesday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Woodinville's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Auburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Woodinville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Auburn in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-44 win. Will Woodinville repeat their success, or does Auburn have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
