Softball Recap: Brighton Comes Up Short

Brighton suffered their closest loss since April 22nd on Monday. They fell just short of the Stoney Creek Cougars by a score of 5-3. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Kendall Peckens made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Brighton and nudges their season record down to 8-12. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Stoney Creek, their win bumped their record up to 13-9-1.

While Brighton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
