Football Recap: Concordia Lutheran Gets the Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Concordia Lutheran walked away with it. They managed a 41-35 victory over the Antonian Prep Apaches on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 40-38 back in October.

Antonian Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rogan Parson, who threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 127 yards and one score. Parson's passing game has become a key predictor of the Apaches' success: the team is 5-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Another back making a difference was Topper Sterling, who gained 217 total yards and a touchdown.

Concordia Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Antonian Prep, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-5.

Concordia Lutheran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-14 loss against Parish Episcopal on the 28th. Antonian Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
