Baseball Recap: South Caldwell Comes Up Short

South Caldwell and Marvin Ridge squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but South Caldwell had to settle for second. They fell 4-0 to the Mavericks. That makes it the first time this season the Spartans have let down their home crowd.

South Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 25-3. As for Marvin Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

South Caldwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marvin Ridge, they will square off against T.C. Roberson on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mavericks 2.9, the Rams 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
