Baseball Game Preview: Bravo Knights vs. Wilson Mules

The Bravo Knights will face off against the Wilson Mules at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bravo saw some tournament action on Saturday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wilson, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Franklin with a sharp 16-6 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Mules, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Angel Covarrubias was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Covarrubias was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Arturo Millan and Benn Solis did most of the damage at the plate: Millan went 3-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs, while Solis scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs Solis has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adrian Aguayo, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Wilson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Wilson's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Bravo, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Bravo beat Wilson 5-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mules turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
