Football Recap: Scotland/Menno Piles Up the Points Against Colome

Scotland/Menno won the last time they faced Colome and things went their way on Friday too. The Trappers blew past the Cowboys, posting a 56-0 victory. The Trappers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Scotland/Menno can attribute much of their success to Jarret Andretta, who rushed for 40 yards and a pair of TDs. Hunter Yosten also helped with two touchdowns in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Scotland/Menno was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Scotland/Menno didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Yosten picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Scotland/Menno's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Colome, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coming up, Scotland/Menno will face off against Avon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trappers will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Colome, they will challenge Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colome will be up against Tripp-Delmont/Armour/Andes Central/Dakota Christian's rather soft defense (which has allowed 53 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
