Volleyball Recap: Coronado Takes Down Ranked Foothill

Coronado faced Foothill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

The victory didn't come easy: Foothill scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22.

DEXTER BRIMHALL paced Coronado's offense, picking up 17 kills. BRIMHALL got some help from BRAXTON ROWLEY and his 45 assists. BRIMHALL was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Despite the loss, Foothill still got an impressive performance from Reece Velasco, who had 33 assists and 14 digs.

Coronado pushed their record up to 28-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Foothill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-12.
