Recap: Rich Rebels vs. North Summit Braves

The Rich Rebels struggled with assists on Thursday (the North Summit Braves had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Rich took a 59-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Summit. While losing is never fun, Rich can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while North Summit is ranked 11th).

Despite the loss, Rich still got an impressive performance from Violett Taylor, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Taylor scored a full 25.9% of Rich's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Paige Smith, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.

It was another big night for Chezlie Langston, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and five blocks for North Summit. The matchup was Langston's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hartlynn Richins, who scored 20 points along with five assists and three steals.

Rich has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for North Summit, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Rich will head out on the road to face off against Kemmerer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kemmerer is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for North Summit, they will play host again and welcome South Summit, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully South Summit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
