Baseball Recap: Hopewell Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hopewell). They put the hurt on the Palisades Pumas with a sharp 21-4 win on Wednesday. Considering the Titans have won 12 contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Hopewell's seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Palisades, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hopewell will head out to square off against West Mecklenburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Palisades, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pumas are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
