Volleyball Recap: Lecanto Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lecanto lost against Mitchell back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 25-21 in the first set.

Lecanto started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-14.

Devin Pulham paced Lecanto's offense, picking up 11 kills. Pulham got some help from Amelia Ebert and her 16 assists. Kennedy DiMase and Sadie Richardson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Mitchell had a senior duo take command as Lily Unger had 25 digs and two aces and Emma Hatzistefanou had six digs and two aces. Hatzistefanou is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Lecanto and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Mitchell, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

Lecanto has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against The Villages Charter on the 29th. As for Mitchell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Sunlake on the 1st.
