Soccer Recap: Jackson Day Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jackson Day can now relate to. They lost 8-0 to the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons on Monday. While losing is never fun, Jackson Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy are ranked 73rd).

Jackson Day has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, the win (which was their 21st in a row) raised their record to 23-1.

Jackson Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they will face off against Triad Math and Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy will need to watch out since Triad Math and Science Academy have now posted at least four goals in their last five matches.
