Baseball Game Preview: Monument Mountain Spartans vs. Wahconah Regional Warriors

For the first time this season, Monument Mountain will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Wahconah Regional Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

After dropping their season opener at home, Wahconah Regional is headed out to face a Spartans squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Monument Mountain took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hopkins Academy on Friday.

Meanwhile, Wahconah Regional had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 4-0 to Southwick Regional last Monday.

Wahconah Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam McLaughlin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Monument Mountain came up short against Wahconah Regional when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
