Basketball Recap: Lake Ridge Beats South Grand Prairie for Their Fourth Straight Win

South Grand Prairie came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Lake Ridge, but Eze Nwakamma wouldn't allow it. The Lake Ridge Eagles strolled past the South Grand Prairie Warriors with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 69-54 thanks in part to Nwakamma, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

The win (which was Lake Ridge's fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-1. As for South Grand Prairie, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-9.

Lake Ridge and South Grand Prairie should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Lake Ridge (ranked tenth) will meet University (ranked 112th) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.9 points per game this season. Similarly, South Grand Prairie (ranked 147th) will meet Sam Houston (ranked 391st) at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
