The Kern Valley Broncs will head out on the road to face off against the Boron Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kern Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
Kern Valley took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over Bishop Union.
Sam Wyly made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Wyly was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

Bechtel went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Plante went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Bechtel a new career-high. Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Boron's offense. They came up short against California City last Friday, falling 21-0. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Kern Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Boron, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Kern Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .552. However, it's not like Boron struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kern Valley took their victory against Boron in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 15-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
