Basketball Recap: Bloomington South's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Bloomington South and Terre Haute North Vigo squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Bloomington South had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots by a score of 64-62. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-43 back in December of 2024.

Terre Haute North Vigo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Klopfenstein, who went 5-for-7 en route to 13 points. What's more, Klopfenstein also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gavin Woelfle, who posted nine points and seven assists.

With the loss, Bloomington South broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points over those games. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Bloomington South does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, they will square off against Whiteland at 7:00 p.m. on March 15th. Whiteland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Terre Haute North Vigo likes a good challenge.
