The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shoemaker, who took down 80th ranked Midway, 7-3.
Killeen was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in 5A Region I District 8. Earlier in the week, the Kangaroos triumphed over Belton 31-28.
Jeff Carr was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 204 yards on 18 carries as Temple lost to Killeen. Chase Truelove also contributed to the rushing game with 100 yards on the ground.
Belton's Shane Stafford and Andre Ewing led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Stafford has thrown for 1,287 yards this season, while Ewing has 30 catches for 477 yards. Carr from the Wildcats leads the league in rushing with 1,141 yards.
A big matchup in 5A Region I District 8 this week will be when Copperas Cove takes on Temple. The Bulldawgs are currently in fourth, while Mike Spradlin's team is in second.
The Wolves moved up to 197 from 290 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Shoemaker was able to move up by beating the Panthers 7-3.
