Basketball Recap: Northwest Guilford Triumphs

Northwest Guilford proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 32) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 win over the Grimsley Whirlies. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 62-58 victory the Whirlies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Northwest Guilford's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Grimsley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Guilford won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Davidson will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Northwest Guilford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grimsley, they will venture away from home to take on Ragsdale at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
