Basketball Recap: Banff Comes Up Short

Banff lost against School of the Woods back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Banff Bears were outmatched by the School of the Woods Wildcats and fell 50-18. The matchup marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Jayden Oriedetu was Banff's leading scorer, having posted six points. Oriedetu also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Leading School of the Woods to victory were Rami Keyhani and Adam Zagaar. Keyhani posted 12 points and six rebounds, while Zagaar earned 11 points and four steals. Zagaar has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Pace Graff, who had 11 points.

Banff's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for School of the Woods, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Banff will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on The Connection School of Houston at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for School of the Woods, they will face off against Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. School of the Woods is facing Faith Christian at the right time seeing as Faith Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
