Basketball Recap: Long Island City Comes Up Short

Long Island City lost against Newtown two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Long Island City Bulldogs came up short against the Newtown Pioneers, falling 39-13. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Long Island City and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Newtown, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

When Long Island City and Newtown next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Long Island City will try to stop Townsend Harris' four-game winning streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Similarly, Newtown will face off against Hillcrest and their three-game winning streak on January 4, 2025.
