Recap: Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians vs. Rye Garnets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians can now relate to. They lost to the Garnets on the road by a decisive 24-10 margin on Saturday. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Kaden Potter threw for 122 yards and a touchdown. Jack Reif was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards. On the ground, Dominick Paljusaj rushed for 41 yards.
Rye's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Iuliano led the charge by rushing for 142 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Iuliano hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. AJ Miller also helped out by tossing the rock for 284 yards.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's defeat dropped their record down to 11-1-1. As for Rye, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rye will be staying on the road on Sunday to face off against Maine-Endwell at 12:00 p.m. on December 3rd. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Maine-Endwell: 15.8, Rye: 12.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
