Meanwhile, St. Croix Falls fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Cameron on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Comets by a score of 9-7. Saints fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Comets since on Thursday.

Faith Allram was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 8.1 innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Allram was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Cumberland came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Croix Falls in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
