Baseball Recap: Mountain View-Gotebo Beats Apache for Their Second Straight Win

Mountain View-Gotebo made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Apache, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Trigger Trogglin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Luke Brock was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Creed Tontigh was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Mountain View-Gotebo and bumps their season record up to 13-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Apache, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, Mountain View-Gotebo will welcome Fletcher at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Apache, they will head out on the road to challenge Clinton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
