Soccer Game Preview: Eagle Point vs. North Eugene

The Eagle Point Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the North Eugene Highlanders at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Eagle Point's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Eagle Point and Ashland meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Eagles lost 7-0 to the Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, Eagle Point can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Ashland are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in September, North Eugene was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and Thurston finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw.

With that draw, North Eugene's record moves to 2-6-2. As for Eagle Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-2.
