Baseball Recap: Hico Wins Going Away Against Millsap

Hico picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over the Millsap Bulldogs. Considering the Tigers have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Honea and Tyler Jackson made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Honea struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Jackson pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Honea scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Jackson scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Scheufele, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalder Holbrook, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hico kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Hico's win bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for Millsap, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Bearcats at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. De Leon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Millsap, they will welcome Moody at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
