Volleyball Game Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Flintridge Prep Wolves

The Polytechnic Panthers will take on the Flintridge Prep Wolves at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Polytechnic is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Polytechnic had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt EF Academy on Saturday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over EF Academy.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Flintridge Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Chadwick by a score of 3-2. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Dolphins 25-17 in the first set.

Flintridge Prep actually scored more points across those five sets (106-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-19, 16-25, 27-25, 15-12.

Flintridge Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Polytechnic, they pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Polytechnic took their victory against Flintridge Prep when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
