Two dominant backs in Jedd Ramold and Kip Brigham are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mount Michael Benedictine Knights will face off against the Wahoo Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Mount Michael Benedictine took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 win over Fort Calhoun. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Knights were the (much) better team in the second half.
Brady Quinlivan produced another solid effort rushing for 207 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mount Michael Benedictine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 380 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Mount Michael Benedictine didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ramold. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wahoo). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-14 victory over Douglas County West. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-14.
Mount Michael Benedictine pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.0 points over those games. As for Wahoo, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Mount Michael Benedictine has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 257.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wahoo struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 334.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Mount Michael Benedictine was taken down by Wahoo 55-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
