Basketball Recap: Marlette Comes Up Short

Marlette lost against Brown City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marlette Red Raiders lost 42-19 to the Brown City Green Devils. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 629th, while the Green Devils are ranked 257th).

Marlette's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Brown City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marlette will welcome Sandusky at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sandusky's defense has only allowed 23.1 points per game this season, so Marlette's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Brown City, they will square off against Ubly at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
