Football Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Severance Silver Knights

Roosevelt is a perfect 3-0 against Severance since October of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Roughriders will venture away from home to face off against the Silver Knights at 7:00 p.m. Severance took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Roosevelt, who comes in off a win.

Roosevelt took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past Fort Morgan to the tune of 54-19. The result was nothing new for the Roughriders, who have now won three matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.

Milo Pascual produced another solid performance rushing for 113 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Roosevelt is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Ryder Tymkowych was another key rusher, gaining 77 total yards and two touchdowns.

Roosevelt's defense stepped up as well, laying out Jj Marquez four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up 0.5 apiece ( Tymkowych, Abel Miramontes, Hector Pineda, and Braylon Brake also recorded half a sack).

Meanwhile, Severance's game on Thursday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 27-13 bruising from Pomona. The Silver Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Roosevelt's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.3 points over those games. As for Severance, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Roosevelt won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, slipping by Severance 10-9. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roughriders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
