Football Game Preview: Prosper Eagles vs. Princeton Panthers

The Prosper Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Princeton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Prosper is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Allen, who was ranked second at the time (Prosper was ranked sixth). Prosper and Allen were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Prosper suffered a 31-30 loss. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Allen since Friday.

Meanwhile, Princeton played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Plano West, falling 56-22. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

Prosper will have to contain Dakota Lee as he made an impact in Princeton's last game. He rushed for 140 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Lee was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.

Princeton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Prosper fell to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Prosper against Princeton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-41 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Panthers' Marcus Flowers, who threw for 460 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score.
