The Lakota Tech Tatanka and the Dakota Valley Panthers will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lakota Tech is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.

Winning is just a little bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, a fact Lakota Tech proved on Saturday. They walked away with a 49-39 victory over Alcester-Hudson.

Kate Robinson and Shania Ferguson were among the main playmakers for Lakota Tech as the former scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals and the latter scored 17 points along with five steals. Ferguson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Meanwhile, Dakota Valley waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Andes Central/Dakota Christian 66-50.

Dakota Valley found their leader in underclassman Ella Otten, who scored 28 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Otten has scored all season. Aubree Worden was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Lakota Tech's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Dakota Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Saturday's game is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Lakota Tech have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.3 rebounds per game.
