Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Sheldon Huskies

Franklin hasn't had much luck against Sheldon recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Franklin Wildcats will host the Sheldon Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Franklin comes in on three and Sheldon on nine.

Last Friday, Franklin beat Pleasant Grove 63-54. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Eagles are ranked 540th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Juarros, who went 7 for 8 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Fahlen, who posted six points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Franklin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Grove only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sheldon strolled past Pleasant Grove with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 72-54.

Sheldon pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.1 points per game. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.
