Luther Prep never let their opponents score on Thursday. They came out on top against the Waterloo Pirates by a score of 3-0. This was payback for the Phoenix, who suffered a 14-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Luther Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Martin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Luther Prep and bumps their season record up to 6-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Waterloo, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luther Prep will welcome Catholic Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Phoenix are facing the Hilltoppers at the right time seeing as the Hilltoppers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Waterloo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
