Basketball Recap: Winter Haven Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bluefield last Saturday, Winter Haven came back down to earth. The Winter Haven Blue Devils were beaten by the Notre Dame Green Knights 92-37 on Friday. The match marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Winter Haven's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Troy Boswell Jr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Jordan Phillips, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. That was a full 45.9% of Winter Haven's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Winter Haven's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Notre Dame, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
