Softball Recap: Kimball Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Kimball had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Los Banos Tigers 14-2 on Thursday. The Jaguars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Giselle Mallamo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Briez Dodds was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Saige Dodds, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.

Kimball was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Kimball's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Los Banos, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Kimball has already played their next matchup, a 10-2 loss against Mountain House on the 25th. As for Los Banos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-8 defeat against Stagg on the 25th.
