Preview: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Hillsboro Eagles
After two games on the road, Ferris is heading back home. They will take on The Hillsboro Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Two Fridays ago, Ferris took a serious blow against Godley, falling 56-17.
Despite the defeat, Ferris got a solid performance out of Gavin Garcia, who picked up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro was able to grind out a solid win over Benbrook on Friday, taking the game 22-15. The win was just what Hillsboro needed coming off of a 21-0 loss in their prior match.
The critical scores for Hillsboro came from Darrian Hodge and Tory Brooks.
Hillsboro's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Juan Gonzalez and Brooks who racked up six sacks between them.
Hillsboro's victory bumped their season record to 3-3 while Ferris' defeat dropped theirs to 1-5.
Ferris beat Hillsboro 42-35 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Ferris repeat their success, or does Hillsboro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
