Basketball Game Preview: Lafayette Central Catholic Knights vs. Rensselaer Central Bombers

Lafayette Central Catholic is a perfect 10-0 against Rensselaer Central since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Knights will take on the Bombers in a tournament on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lafayette Central Catholic saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of McCutcheon.

Mikey Stapleton put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 19 points and six rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Calvin Reisman, who earned five points.

Meanwhile, Rensselaer Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 93-26 loss at the hands of Harrison.

Lafayette Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rensselaer Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Lafayette Central Catholic barely slipped by Rensselaer Central when the teams last played back in January, winning 54-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
