Recap: Cathedral Fighting Irish vs. Ben Davis Giants
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cathedral Fighting Irish can now relate to. They fell just short of Ben Davis by a score of 27-24. Cathedral has not had much luck with Ben Davis recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Cathedral lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Zach Meeks. Despite the final result, he picked up 39 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Ben Davis can attribute much of their success to Alijah Price, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Jalen Harris got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ben Davis' defense and their 8.5 sacks. Harris was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Ben Davis, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
