After a string of four wins, Whittier's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. The contest between them and the La Serna Lancers didn't end well, with the Whittier Cardinals falling 59-45. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lancers earlier this season, when they won 56-53.

When it comes to explaining why Whittier lost, don't look at Brandon Romo. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noor Moustafa, who scored eight points.

Whittier's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-10. As for La Serna, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-11.
