Softball Game Preview: Gilbert Christian Knights vs. Benjamin Franklin Chargers

Gilbert Christian is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will host the Benjamin Franklin Chargers at 3:45 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Gilbert Christian and five for Benjamin Franklin.

Gilbert Christian came up short against Bourgade Catholic on Tuesday, falling 19-3.

Gilbert Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adelyn Colelli, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin lost 19-8 to Northwest Christian on Monday.

Benjamin Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Gilbert Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Gilbert Christian couldn't quite get it done against Benjamin Franklin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 11-6. Can Gilbert Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
