Basketball Recap: Withrow Takes a Loss

Withrow was the 68-43 winner over Dunbar when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Withrow Tigers received a blow on Monday as they fell 63-45 to the Dunbar Wolverines. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dunbar was led to victory by Blessyn Preston and Donisha Davis. Preston went 10 for 18 on her way to 24 points in addition to seven boards and six steals, while Davis dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. The matchup was Preston's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Rayne Manson was another key player, putting up 11 points and five steals.

Withrow's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Dunbar, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Withrow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dunbar, they will square off against Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
