Basketball Recap: Hatch Valley Comes Up Short

Hatch Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 54-43 to the Socorro Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-47 last Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Hatch Valley lost, don't look at Omar Gonzalez. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Demarcus Alaniz was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

Hatch Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Socorro, their win bumped their record up to 6-18.

Hatch Valley has already played their next match, a 61-18 loss against Cobre on the 14th. As for Socorro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-37 defeat against Hot Springs on the 18th.
