Softball Recap: Lowellville Comes Up Short

Lowellville was the 20-8 winner over Springfield when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 11-10 on Wednesday.

Natalie Macejko led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Aubrey Kestner was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Lowellville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Springfield, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lowellville will square off against rival Western Reserve at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Springfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
