Softball Game Preview: Van Buren Black Knights vs. Genoa Area Comets

The Van Buren Black Knights will challenge the Genoa Area Comets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Van Buren managed to slip by Ada the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Black Knights came up short against the Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Black Knights were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Genoa Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 26-0 to Eastwood. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Comets have suffered against the Eagles since May 9, 2022.

Van Buren now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Genoa Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
