Basketball Recap: Charleston Math & Science Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Charleston Math & Science had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Beaufort Academy Eagles 74-41. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for the Riptide this season.

It was another big night for Ben Gilliard, who posted 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The match was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haasawn Todd, who earned 13 points.

Charleston Math & Science's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Beaufort Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Charleston Math & Science will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics at 7:30 p.m. Charleston Math & Science knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics likes a good challenge. As for Beaufort Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Battery Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
