The Mainland Buccaneers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past St. Augustine with a 43-39 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but Mainland sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Mainland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Narayan Thomas, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nathan Kirk, who scored 18 points.

Mainland is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for St. Augustine, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.
