Basketball Game Preview: Hillsboro Trojans vs. Hesston Swathers

The Hillsboro Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Hesston Swathers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hillsboro beat Haven 49-43. The win was all the more spectacular given the Trojans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Wildcats are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Hesston put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hoisington 58-24. The Swathers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 28 points or more this season.

Hillsboro pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Hesston, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Hillsboro beat Hesston 34-27 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Hillsboro repeat their success, or does Hesston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
