Basketball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was the 66-60 winner over Ida B. Wells when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Franklin Quakers took a hard 65-47 fall against the Ida B. Wells Guardians on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Quakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Guardians are ranked 92nd).

Franklin dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ida B. Wells, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will take on Benson Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ida B. Wells, they will face off against Roosevelt at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 matchups -- so hopefully Ida B. Wells likes a good challenge.
